Full Story

The beloved Italian priest Don Bosco passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning. However, later that day, reports of visions came in from several witnesses, independent of each other. The first was from a priest in France named Pére, who had previously asked Don Bosco about a scientist under his care who had lost her faith. He encouraged him to pray to Mary, Help of Christians. On that morning of Jan. 31st, Don Bosco appeared to him, assuring him his prayers were to be granted by Our Lady. He asked "Why did you come here without letting me know? I should have wished to...", when the saint disappeared. He continued, "I thought I must have been dreaming, till later that same morning I heard of Don Bosco's death." Another report came from Sister Philomena, a friend in Turin who wished to come to his deathbed in support, but was too sick. After seeing Don Bosco that Jan. 31st "as young, happy and as lively as... during my childhood", she immediately recovered from her bedridden illness. The next day on Feb. 1st, a young boy who was very sick told his mother that Don Bosco visited him, saying "in three days he will take me with him to Heaven." After insisting on receiving Holy Communion, the boy did indeed pass away on the prophesized day, declaring, "See, Mother! I told you so! Here he is! Here he is! Oh, come quickly!"
