Full Story

One of the many miracles attributed to Don Bosco took place during a Holy Communion service. Father John Bosco was distributing Communion to a group of 360 young boys at his oratory, a refuge for disadvantaged youth. As he prepared to give Communion, he saw there were only eight hosts remaining, far fewer than needed. The sacristan, who had prepared the Mass, and the priests assisting Father Bosco were visibly anxious about the shortage. Don Bosco seemed to remain calm, and began distributing the hosts. Miraculously, the number of hosts never ran out, allowing him to continue until all 360 boys had received Communion. This event was witnessed by several people, including Giuseppe Buzzetti, who recounted the extraordinary event. Many of the boys present shared similar testimonies. Don Bosco would go on to become the founder of the Salesians, one of the largest religious orders in the world, dedicated to the education and spiritual care of young people.
