Prayer: Prayer for the intercession of St. Charbel: O Lord, infinitely holy and glorified in your saints, you inspired the holy monk and hermit Saint Charbel to live and die in the way of Jesus Christ and gave him the strength to detach himself from the world in order to make the monastic virtues triumph in his hermitage. We implore you to bestow upon us the grace to love you and to serve you by following his example. Almighty God, who manifested the power of Saint Sharbel’s intercession by numerous miracles and favors, grant us, through his intercession, this grace (state your intention). Amen.
Verse: Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the heart. You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. -1 Pet 1:22-23
Full Story
Neeman Mjahid was 75 years old when he fell from an olive tree, almost 40 feet down. Nearly dead, he heard a voice say, “Don’t be afraid, I am with you.” He suffered from the pain of 6 broken ribs and a torn lung, and was bleeding internally. In desperation, he sporadically prayed to St. Charbel, having heard of him as a Lebanese monk from the late 1800s, known for many miraculous healings. Suddenly, an old man in a dark robe visited his hospital bedside. The monk-like person performed a sort of bizarre surgery, with a glass instrument to remove the internal blood. He also touched the head injury with his hand. He then said, “Congratulations, you are healed.” Neeman asked his name, and he said, “I am Saint Charbel.” Neeman was fully healed in every area, with no remaining symptoms whatsoever. His nurse was heard shouting at him to slow down as he was seen quickly walking out of the hospital. St. Charbel has more recorded miracles than any person. At the monastery where his tomb resides, they currently have 33,000 documented cases (and counting). This number does not include the unreported healings across the world. The healings are from Christians, Muslims, and many other faiths (such as Neeman, who is a devout Druze). St. Charbel has become known as the “Miracle Monk of Lebanon”.
