Prayer: Prayer of Healing by St. Padre Pio: Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me. Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul and spirit. Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Cast anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ precious blood. Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas, so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart. Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy and peace and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life. And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit, and empower me to do your works so that my life will bring glory and honour to your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Verse: As he walked along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned; he was born blind so that God’s works might be revealed in him." -Jn 9:1-3

Full Story

Gemma di Giorgi was born completely blind, with no pupils in her eyes. At age seven, a nun had a prophetic vision that inspired the family to make a pilgrimage to central Italy to visit a friar renowned for healings, Padre Pio. Almost immediately after arriving, Padre Pio singled out the young girl, calling her by name despite never having met her. Gemma later recalled, "I only saw a man dressed in a long brown habit. I couldn’t see his face clearly, but I heard him call me by name." Her eyesight was just beginning to return at this point. Padre Pio heard her confession and, after blessing her, told her to "be good and saintly," making the sign of the cross over her eyes. Gemma was upset—she had forgotten to ask for a healing! Concerned, her grandmother approached Padre Pio and explained that Gemma had not requested a cure. Padre Pio reassured her, saying, "Do you have faith, my daughter? The child must not weep and neither must you, for the child sees, and you know she sees." Gemma's eyesight continued to return, and by the time she arrived home, her vision was fully functional. She went on to live a normal life. What is most extraordinary, however, is that her pupils never physically developed at any point in her life. Doctors from across the country came to examine her, marveling at how she defied biological expectations. One doctor noted, "Medically, it is impossible for a person without pupils to see. And yet, we have here a case that challenges everything we know about the human eye"
